Group 4 identified a critical pain point in the mobile accessories market: the lack of security and ownership for high-value power banks. Their concept was bold:
The PowerBand: A wireless charging powerbank with a game-changing feature—biometric fingerprint security. This allows each user to “pair” with and own their unit, rendering it useless if stolen. Coupled with an unprecedented 100,000mAh capacity, the product wasn’t just an accessory; it was a statement on personal tech security and utility.
The vision was clear, but it needed a brand, a face, and a voice to resonate in the competitive tech landscape.
Invollv’s task was to provide the complete strategic and creative framework to make the PowerBand feel inevitable. We were tasked with building the entire brand universe, making an conceptual product feel tangible and desirable to potential investors, partners, and future consumers.
Our comprehensive deliverables included:
Brand Strategy & Naming: Establishing the core identity and market position for “PowerBand.”
Product Design: Creating the physical look and feel of the device, focusing on ergonomics, materiality, and how to integrate the fingerprint sensor seamlessly.
UI/UX Design: Designing the mobile app interface for user onboarding, fingerprint registration, battery management, and security settings.
Packaging Design: Crafting an unboxing experience that reflects the product’s premium and tech-forward attributes.
Go-to-Market Strategy: Drafting the expansion roadmap for the product line.
Advertising & Commercials: Producing a suite of marketing assets, from social media content and street banners to product commercials.
We approached this project by building out every touchpoint of the potential customer journey.
A. Brand Strategy & Identity:
We positioned PowerBand not as a mere powerbank, but as a personal power security device. The brand voice was crafted to be authoritative, innovative, and secure.
Visual Identity: We developed a sleek, modern logo and color palette using deep blues (for trust and technology) and electric accents (for energy and innovation).
B. Product & Industrial Design:
Our design process focused on making the high-concept features intuitive and aesthetically pleasing.
Form Factor: We designed a sleek, band-like form that was ergonomic to hold and carry.
User Interface: The fingerprint sensor was integrated as a central, tactile button, making it the core of the user interaction.
Materials: Concepts featured a combination of matte-finish silicone for grip and polished polycarbonate for a premium tech feel.
C. UI/UX Design for the Companion App:
The app was designed to be the command center for the PowerBand experience.
Onboarding: A simple, step-by-step guide for pairing the device via Bluetooth and registering the owner’s fingerprint.
Dashboard: A clean interface showing real-time battery levels for both the PowerBand and the user’s phone.
Security Settings: A dedicated section to manage fingerprints (add/remove users for shared scenarios) and locate the device if misplaced.
Power Management: Settings to optimize charging speed and battery health for the 100,000mAh cell.
D. Packaging & Marketing Materials:
We designed a system that would stand out on a shelf and in a feed.
Packaging: A clean, premium box with a sleeve showcasing the product. Inside, the PowerBand would be nestled in a custom foam insert, with a “Getting Started” guide that reinforces the premium experience.
Advertising: A full suite of assets, including:
Social Media Templates: Carousels explaining the security features, videos demonstrating the fingerprint pairing process, and eye-catching static posts.
Street Banner Concepts: Bold designs with key messaging: “Your Power, Secured” or “Never Run Out. Never Worry About Theft.”
Product Commercial Storyboard: A script and storyboard for a 30-second ad showing a user confidently leaving their PowerBand on a cafe table, only to have a would-be thief foiled by the biometric lock.
